Noel Abandoned on a Cold Night
UPDATE: Noel now weighs 5 pounds and looks more like a schnauzer every day. She may be small, but she makes up for it in personality!
Early in the morning of December 21st, Noel was being left in a tiny crate outside a Walmart entrance in 42 degree temperatures. An ABC volunteer intervened and asked what was going on. The owner stated they were leaving her there because they no longer wanted her.
She was lethargic and passing bloody stool. She was rushed to the hospital where she received fluids, antibiotics, and proper food. Barely six weeks old, her blood work showed she hadn’t been receiving proper nutrition for days and was seriously anemic. She weighs approximately 1 pound. She started to eat and drink on her own and is expected to make a full recovery.
It truly is a Christmas miracle that she survived, but she does have some challenges ahead. We need your help to raise $1200 to offset the cost of her hospitalization and treatment. Any size contribution will make a difference for Little Noel!

ABC rescues animals regardless of their medical condition. Many times an animal needs surgery or extended medical care before he or she is ready for adoption. Our Critical Care Corner will keep you updated on these special needs animals.
