Animals Benefit Club (ABC)—a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter in North Phoenix—is hiring an Animal Caregiver. ABC is essential to the lives of our animals and will continue to work through the pandemic.

Animal Caregiver
Our ideal candidate is outgoing, compassionate, hard-working, loves animals of all breeds, has a flexible schedule and owns reliable transportation. This is a fast-paced, physically demanding job, which requires lifting heavy items (pet food, equipment, dogs, etc.) and being on your feet the entire shift. On-site training will be provided for the right candidate.
Part-time is approximately 10-15 hours, full-time is approximately 25-35 hours. Must be available to work morning and/or evening shifts, including some weekends and holidays. Split shifts may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Clean facility and kennels
- Feed and administer medication
- Assist with socialization of the animals
- Transport to/from vet visits
- Record animal data and daily logs
- Assist with medical care
- Follow safety guidelines
- Interact with volunteers
- Communicate with the Staff and Director
Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Compassionate to the shelter cats & dogs
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player
- Provide great customer service
- Be a problem solver
- Owns reliable transportation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding job
- Ability to reach, bend, and be on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy bags of pet food, large dogs 40+ lbs, equipment, etc.
- Available to work mornings and/or evenings, including some weekends and holidays
- NICE TO HAVE: Vet tech or animal shelter experience
Compensation:
- $13.85 per hour
