Critical Care Corner: Cody
Cody Rescued From the Trash
UPDATE: Because of YOUR contribution, Cody is expected to lead a very normal life! Thank you for your support and the wonderful talents of Dr. Zoe Reed and her team at Eyeshine Veterinary! Here are some photos that document Cody’s story, from the time he was rescued to his post-op visit.
An ABC volunteer found Cody left for dead in the trash. He suffers from a birth defect called “cherry eye” in both eyes. His medical issue went unattended so it caused additional complications which will require extensive surgery to repair them.
Cody is a purebred Maltese, only 4 months old and barely weighing 5 pounds, who is the sweetest ball of fluff you’ll meet! We are currently working with Dr. Reed and her team at Eyeshine Veterinary to determine the best course of action for Cody. We need to raise $2,400 to cover his surgery and medical care. Cody is with a foster family and won’t be available to adopt until he’s made a full recovery.
To help with Cody’s medical expenses donate online or mail a check (scroll down for the address). Please include “Cody Critical Care” in your donation description. As always, your donation is tax-deductible. Funds donated beyond our estimate will go towards future Critical Care animals.

Coin Drive Fundraiser Success!
Desert Springs Preparatory coin drive raises over $1,100 for Amber!
Mrs. Berg and her civic leadership group, the COMETS, organized a successful coin drive fundraiser for Amber’s leg surgery. This is their 3rd consecutive year fundraising on behalf of ABC and they raised over $1,100! Amber enjoyed meeting the students and receiving all the attention during the donation presentation!
Thank you to Mrs. Berg, the Desert Springs Preparatory students, and everyone who participated to help raise money for Amber! Have a great summer break and we hope to see you again next year!

Critical Care Corner: Lilly & Austin
Lilly and Austin Require Surgery to Repair Broken Legs
Lilly and Austin were saved from Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC), where they were going to be euthanized due to their severe injuries. They were both badly injured, each with a broken leg, immediately a plea went out to save them from euthanasia. ABC stepped up to help these loving, precious dogs – just look at these beautiful, sweet faces!
Please help us raise the $6,000 to cover their surgery expenses. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you gave these beautiful dogs a brand new life! A generous donor is matching up to $1,500 through May 12th EXTENDED TO FRIDAY, MAY 19TH! Any size donation helps make a difference for these sweet pups.
